UP School of Library and Information Sciences (SLIS) closed with a voter turnout of 115 out of the total 316 students, or 36 percent, as of 6:00 pm today.
The 36.39 percent voter turnout is about sevent percent less than last year’s 42.7 percent turnout (146 out of 342 students).
All students who ran for SLIS local elections were sole candidates, but all were able to secure council positions by garnering a majority vote, or 50 percent plus one of the entire voting population.
